Chelle's Thoughts - mistycows - 01-30-2026 Today is the first day that Max is doing something other than sleeping. He got his computer connected to his tv so he can play a game while laying down. He may move to my room later and if so I will hang out with him. Grandpa had an early appt at the VA today, when he got home he told us the snow in our yard, driveway and walkway is now complete ice. It had just been ice on top of the snow. He is ok, but he fell once getting to his car and twice when coming back to the house when he got home. We have warmer temps coming our way next week but every night will be below freezing. I may go out and see if I can get a path cleared and then put sand/salt down, though I am not sure how much I will get done. I need to check on laundry and see about making some lunch. RE: Chelle's Thoughts - mistycows - 02-02-2026 I am still taking care of Max and keeping him company. It's sunny and we will get up to 49 degrees so hoping we can get some of the ice melted. I got so excited this morning because the city posted on Facebook that our trash will be picked up tomorrow. The storm came through 2 weeks ago the night before trash pickup.Everything shut down here. I think schools will be open tomorrow. I also got excited because we got some packages delivered. Nothing real exciting happening here, we still need to celebrate Christian's birthday but he wants to wait until Max is doing better. Christian will be going to PA in 2 weeks. I just talked to him about making a quilt for the friend that he stays with, so now I can send him some potential fabric to get for them. I would love to be able to send it along with him on his trip. I still have to cut fabric for the cows quilt for another friend of his, but thats a lot of cutting, so that one may get delivered at a later date. RE: Chelle's Thoughts - mistycows - 02-07-2026 Well we took Max to ER yesterday morning, were there all day without getting any info from tests. Finally in the evening we were told he would be admitted. Still has pneumonia and there is a “sack of fluid” showing up in ct scan They are planning to drain it. Unfortunately communication is not on any regular basis. Pain reliever was asked for yesterday and we constantly heard it’s coming- he didn’t get any until 12:40 this morning. Rick stayed with him overnight, he will go home and get some work done (had deadlines for yesterday, and grandpa will come over to kee Max company as well. He is scared, first time to have to stay in hospital. Nurse last night said something about going him today, I don’t think that’s going to happen. RE: Chelle's Thoughts - mistycows - 02-10-2026 Last night I came home early to get some rest. Looks like max will have procedure done today. Asking ppl to send good energy prayers etc RE: Chelle's Thoughts - mistycows - 02-15-2026 We are still at the hospital, they have not done the procedure as they are waiting for two test results. Once they get those he will have it done. It will take weeks for other test results. This morning they did an evaluation to determine if he will need oxygen at home when he gets released. The answer is yes he will. As I parked this morning he sent a text letting me know the power is out. Generators are on for the important stuff. Christian flies out very early Monday morning. I’ve basically been seeing him when I get home from the hospital and do a mini catch up. I’ve suggested that I sleep at the hospital tonight so Rick can take him to the airport- and have a mostly full night sleep at home. RE: Chelle's Thoughts - mistycows - 02-20-2026 We are home. max has an appt on Monday, I assume to go over test results. Oxygen stuff got delivered today, hoping we won't need it for long. Tomorrow DH and I are going out to his mom and sisters. I am hoping to get lots of rest this weekend so I can try to be more productive than I have been the past month. RE: Chelle's Thoughts - Frankied - 02-24-2026 So glad he's home, let's face it everyone feels better at home rather than in a strange place. Lots of hugs coming your way. Lots of love Frances xxx |
